New Home Design Process
After initial E-mail or telephone contact, homeowners send sketches or on-line examples of rough ideas of their new home design and schedule a telephone conference meeting.
After this meeting, Residential Design, Inc. (RDI) will produce a Preliminary Design. The Preliminary Design is sent as a pdf document and consists of floor plans and elevations. Printed full size, these drawings are at 1/4”=1’-0” scale.
The Preliminary Design is for client approval. A revised Preliminary Design may be required for approval. Upon approval, RDI will produce a pdf of the final drawing set for use in permitting and construction. See Final Package for details.
Addition Design Process
Building addition plans are handled remotely much like the new home design process.
Homeowners often have basic measurements as well as rudimentary ideas for an addition. These ideas along with a few photos and some basic existing measurements are emailed to RDI and a telephone conference meeting is scheduled. RDI will produce a Preliminary Design consisting of floor plans and elevations. The elevations will show the existing house as well as the proposed addition.
The Preliminary Design is for client approval. Upon approval, RDI will produce a pdf of the final drawing set for use in permitting and construction. See Final Package for details.
